GREATER MOBILITY FOR YOUNG FLUTISTS

The first EU mobility and festival for young flutists.

Aarhus, 7 - 13 September 2026

About Flute Futures

A seven-day European youth exchange bringing together 42 young flutists from across Europe for ensemble work, co-created performances and career-focused workshops in Aarhus. The programme combines artistic collaboration with training in digital skills, cultural entrepreneurship and well-being, while participants take part in the Danish Flute Festival and build lasting international networks.

As a pilot initiative, Flute Futures develops a replicable model for future mobility projects that support employability, creativity and intercultural exchange for young musicians.

During the programme, participants will:

  • Collaborate in ensemble workshops and co-created performances

  • Participate in joint rehearsals and artistic exchange sessions

  • Develop career planning, cultural entrepreneurship and project management skills

  • Strengthen digital competences for musicians, including online promotion and tools

  • Engage in workshops on well-being, resilience and sustainable artistic practice

  • Take part in intercultural dialogue and peer-to-peer learning activities

  • Contribute actively to shaping the programme and reflecting through personal learning diaries

  • Build European networks through participation in the Danish Flute Festival
